Where do I find someone with a smile?
Our ushers, greeters and several of our members wear name tags. They will welcome you with smiles and handshakes, but you are not required to stand up and introduce yourself or get introduced to the congregation.
Where is accessible parking available?
Accessible parking is available on both west and east parking lots. The Sanctuary is on Level 2 as are most Sunday School classrooms. The Activity Center is on Level 1. All levels are accessible by an elevator.
Which entrance should I take into the Church?
There are three entrances open on Sunday mornings. Immanuel offers two entrances that are handicap accessible—the front entrance to the Sanctuary and the main entrance located by the Activity Center. Both of these entrances feature power doors.
Main Entrance: This provides the easiest access from the main parking area and is located at the northwest corner of the facility. Handicap accessible parking is directly out front of these automatic power doors. An elevator just inside the doors takes you to the Activity Center on Level 1 and the Sanctuary on Level 2.
Front Entrance: This entrance is on the south side of the facility facing Bob Billings Parkway and provides immediate access to the Sanctuary through the Narthex. Handicap parking for this entrance is available by driving around the back of the building to the east side along Iowa Street. This entrance has automatic power doors.
Side Entrance: This entrance is located in the southwest corner of the building and also provides access from the main parking area, but it requires walking up 14 steps to Level 1. An elevator inside the second set of doors will take you to the Narthex and Sanctuary on Level 2.
Coat racks are available at all entrances. Restrooms are clearly marked and are conveniently located throughout the building.

What times are Sunday Services?
Services are held at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. every Sunday. If inclement weather forces cancelations, notification is provided through KLWN Radio, WOW Channel 6 News ticker, channel 6 or 206 and on the front page of this website.
Between these two services, refreshments and fellowship are available in the Activity Center at 9:30 a.m. on Level 1. Sunday School classes start at 9:45 a.m. (most classrooms are on Level 2.) and our Pastor leads Adult Bible Study in the Activity Center.
What time should I arrive?
The pre-service music typically starts five minutes prior to the published start time for our worship services, so arriving a few minutes early would allow you to get comfortably settled.
Do you offer care for my kidos?
Please bring them! Children are always welcome to attend any of the services at Immanuel, but our 8:30 a.m. service has evolved to be the most popular with our young families. Most Sundays, the children are invited to come forward to listen to a short Children’s Sermon—many prefer to have a parent accompany them to the front. If you need to leave the Sanctuary with your child during the service, please feel free to do so at any time. You can find books, color sheets and other quiet materials available in the Narthex of the church.
Optional nursery care is available from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for children that are four years and younger, and is located in the lower level of the Sanctuary. Speak with an usher for assistance.
There is also an infant care room available to the east side of the Narthex in Classroom 13. Additional changing tables are found in most of the restrooms in the church—this includes the family and men’s restrooms on the Sanctuary level plus the women’s restrooms near the Nursery and the Activity Center.
Please ask an usher if you need directions to any of these areas.
Will I be able to easily follow the service?
Virtually everything you need to follow the service is in the bulletin with the exception of some hymns, which are clearly referenced. LARGE PRINT versions are also available from the ushers.
Most worship services will follow the order of the Divine Service:
- Gathering – music, prayer and confession of sins
- Word – readings from the Bible and a sermon from our Pastor
- Meal – celebration of Holy Communion
- Sending – benediction and sending hymn
As a new comer to Immanuel, you are encouraged to participate to the level you feel comfortable.
Are hearing Assist Devices available?
A hearning assist service is available in the narthex. Ask an usher for an audio receiver and earbud so that you can clearly hear the church service.
Will I be able to take Communion?
We proclaim that the body and blood of Christ are present with the bread and wine in the Sacrament for the forgiveness of sins and recommitment of our lives. Those able to examine themselves, accept Jesus as their Savior, confess their sins and acknowledge his true presence in the Sacrament are welcome to partake. If you have questions, please speak to the Pastor.
Holy Communion is offered with common and individual cups (8:30 a.m.). Red wine is available in both, except for the inner ring of cups in the serving tray contain white grape juice. If you desire the common cup, please wait for the server to bring it. Gluten-free wafers are available upon request as you are offered the wafer by the Pastor/Elder. If you would like to receive communion without coming forward or if you need assistance moving to the altar during communion, please speak to an usher before the service.
What about the offering?
At some point after the sermon, the offering plates will be passed around. This is an opportunity for our regular members to respond to all that God gives to them by freely giving back a portion of his many blessings. We certainly do not expect our guests to put anything in the offering plate, but you are welcome to do so if you like.
How should I register my attendance or ask for other follow-up?
Please fill out the attendance registration book found in the hymnal holders on the back of the pews and chairs and print neatly using your complete name and address. Pass the registration book down your row, then after everyone has filled out the sheet, please return it to your center aisle for collection by the ushers during the service.
Are Sunday School classes and Adult Bible Study available?
Sunday School and Adult Bible Study are held between services and start at 9:45 a.m. If your child would like to attend Sunday School, please take them to either Rooms 14 or 15, or ask an usher for directions. Our Adult Bible study is held in the Activity Center on the first floor. Other Bible studies are held throughout the week. Please see the ministries tab for more details.
Is there an opportunity for informal fellowship?
Please join us in the Activity Center for refreshments and socializing between services starting at approximately 9:30 a.m. or in the Narthex after the 11 a.m. service.
What should I wear?
We believe that God is not concerned with what you wear. Most of our attendees wear business casual. However, we have a good number who wear more casual clothes, including jeans and shorts, as well as those that prefer to dress formal. We want you to be comfortable.
What other access do I have to the pastor’s sermons?
The pastor’s sermons are available through three different ways:
Printed Version: The sermons from the current and past three Sundays are available in a printed version in the Narthex.
Web Site: The sermons are also available in both audio and printed form on our Web site under the Sermons tab.
Downloadable Application: If you download our mobile app, sermons are also available in both audio and printed form. To get our app, you can search your App Store using “Immanuel Lawrence” or through the following link: http://get.theapp.co/01a5
